devlin's fingers tapped away at the keys on his laptop as he updated the website for all-american nightmare whilst he waited for his coffee. he preferred to work out in the elements sometimes, it was a nice break from a stuffy bus once and a while. plus it gave him a chance to meet new people. devlin had never found it hard to make friends with people, even back in school. he had a charisma about him that made his personality somewhat infectious. not to mention, he was a shameless flirt to boot. but it helped him escape the hurt of divorce quickly, and that was something he was thankful for.
he adjusted his sunglasses and sighed out, rapping his fingertips on the table. he heard a barista yell out "david, long black?" devlin chuckled to himself and replied with a loud "yep," as he got up. david? really? they could never get devlin right. it wasn't even that hard of a name in his opinion. he got up and his phone buzzed, so he pulled it out as he started to walk to the counter, reading the text.
next thing he knew he felt a bump and the sound of a bag falling to the ground. "oh shit!" he exclaimed, his eyes darting to the female he'd just run blatantly into. "i am, so sorry.." he started, his eyes darting to the woman's, "... wow." she was hot. he cleared his throat and shoved his phone in his pocket, a little embarrassed. "here," devlin bent down and picked up her bag, handing it to her. "david, long black?" came again from behind him and he span around, "devlin! shit son," he grunted, taking the coffee off the counter. turning to the woman again, he sighed, pushing his sunglasses onto his head. "sorry about that, i should really be watching where i'm going, right?" he chuckled, biting his lip a little. "tell you what, let me shout you a coffee..? or tea..? or whatever the hell you drink?"

after the morning routine of waking up, taking her hormone shot, then getting ready jenni was out and ready for her morning coffee. she walked into starbucks, noticing people staring at her. she loved the attention, her outfit was revealing but she had the body to work it and jenni could have gave two fucks what those people in there had to say about her. anyway, she was walking when some tall guy bumped into her. luckily she caught her balance, but her bag had fell. the guy started apologizing, especially once he got a good look at her. he looked familiar, then once he said his own name she figured it out. he managed on of the bands on the tour, she smirked and shook her head at his offer. "no really, my frappuccino is way more than the coffees here. i got it, really. how about instead, i just join you?" jenni loved flirting, she just couldn't help herself when she was put in front of a cute guy she just lost all cares in the world. jenni walked past devlin, went into her bag, pulling out her wallet and approaching the counter. after ordering her large carmel, mocha frappuccino with extra carmel and whipped cream she payed her money, got back her change and turned around to talk to this gentleman. she pressed her self against the counter, smirk still painted on her face. "so, how's the tour going?" maybe then he would realize who she was.

his eyes wandered her up and down, and he didn't mind if she noticed. in fact she probably had, and that was cool with him. he wasn't ashamed, he was a man and he appreciated a sexy woman, like the one he'd just ran into like a complete dickhead. he studied her face and there was something about her that screamed familiarity, but he figured she just had 'one of those' faces.
her voice was interesting, and his jerky grin didn't leave his face until she refused his act of chivalry and walked past him. he bit the inside of his cheek and crossed his arms, a half grin still remaining on his lips. she paid for her drink and her wanted to scowl but couldn't bring his expression to change. as she turned around he raised a brow and grinned again. the brunette mentioned tour and he furrowed his brows. "tour? how did you know tha-" he stopped for a minute and brought his fist to his chin in thought. her face was definately not just one of those faces.
and then it hit him. he gasped a little, "you're on crew, right?" he could have sworn he walked past her the other day on the way to the studio but he was in a rush so he had no time to stop. "you're totally on crew! i never forget a pretty face," devlin chuckled and smirked. he slipped his sunglasses off his head and toyed with them in one hand. waiting for her to get her drink. he nodded and smiled, leading her back to where he was sitting.
pulling her out a seat, he offered her it with a wave of his arm before sitting down and closing his laptop. setting the coffee down on the table, he popped the lid off and took a sip. it was still a bit hot, so he set it back down and sighed, "devlin, by the way... if you didn't hear... before." he said, chuckling at his disjointed sentence. he offered his hand out to the girl and smiled.

she smirked and nodded, taking his hand in hers and giving it a good shake before returning her hand to the other. "i'm the hair and make up artist for brick by boring brick" jenni was already in love with this man, tall; gorgeous; straight forward. god he was perfect, not to mention he was very flattering. her drink wasn't ready yet, but took devlin's offer and sat down. "thank you." she smiled as she flipped her hair over her shoulder. he introduced himself again, but she knew his name prior to even hearing him say it a second ago. when you were on the tour, band or crew you pretty much knew all the managers names. "it is very nice to meet you devlin." she extended her hand, with a bit of laughter in her voice. "i'm jenni. jenni martinez." she rolled her r when she said her name it was just a habit. and she knew that latino accents drove most men crazy, so embraced it.
when they put her frappucino on the counter, jenni smiled and stood up to make her way to the counter. she figured devlin would want to get it for her, but what would have been more fun? sitting there and watch him try to make up for bumping into her, then trying to impress her with kindness? or get the chance to walk to the counter, swaying her hips from side to side in her cute little cut offs. exactly. jenni made sure the short walk from the counter back to the table was as sexy as it could ever be. when she sat down, jenni crossed her legs and slowly put the straw between her lips and taking a quick suck. she loved starbucks, and being a tease as well. so why not mix the two?

hair and makeup, of course. she struck him as a woman with an appreciation for beauty. he could tell by the way her makeup was perfectly done, she looked like something out of a magazine. all the more reason he couldn't take his eyes off of her. devlin smirked and nodded, "pleasure's all mine." as she said her name he smiled at her accent. "ooh, latino?" he asked, tilting his head. that added about several hundred hotness points to her tally, which was already off the charts. "exotic, very nice," devlin thought out loud, chuckling a little.
it appeared that her drink was up, and just as devlin was about to get up, the dark-haired woman had been way ahead of him. he rested his head on his hand and smirked to himself, watching her saunter up and back. he picked up his coffee, which he's momentarily forgot had even been there and took a long sip from it, setting it down as she returned to the table. he raised a brow at the girl as she sucked from her frappucino and bit the inside of his lip a little. "so how's it being hair and makeup?" he asked, not like he would have any idea. "you get busy?"

the way devlin looked at her honestly scared her, not in a bad way because she liked it but in the sense that she knew she wasn't the girl he was looking for. i mean sure, jenni identified as a woman and lived her life as a woman and from the waist up that was what she was. it was the little problem between her thighs that turned most guys off. jenni wasn't even thinking about surgery down there yet, not that because she didn't know whether or not this was what she wanted to do because she was certain. but it was just very scary, the idea of something going wrong. plus, before she found a man without her penis she wanted to find some one who could stand by her with it. talk about a commitment right? anyway, when he spoke up about her accent she smirked and nodded. "most of my family came from puetro rico, a few from mexico." she smiled a bit, after taking a few more sips from her coffee jenni shrugged a bit.
"well every band is entitled to two hair and make up artists, but of course with my luck i'm the only hair and make up artist for brick by boring brick. so it does get pretty hectic before shows, because i'm literally putting all of my concentration on them. and people assume i get the easiest job since there's only one girl in the group. not the case, i have to do the guys too. it's a hassle, dark circles from partying; hickeys; acne i cover it all." jenni laughed a but then realized she blabbed on about a whole lot of nothing, and figured a man like devlin was just asking to be polite. there was no way in hell he cared about hair and make up. "but enough about me, how's a man like yourself even have time to sit and relax in starbucks? i would imagine managing a band is a lot more crazy than what i do."

the way the woman instantly started to ramble about her job showed him she definitely loved what she did. which was great, in devlin's opinion. if you loved your job, you never had to work a day in your life. which was why he'd stuck with his position as a band manager for so long. he continued to sip his coffee as she spoke, nodding at the girl. the way she turned the question on him pleased his ego slightly, although he would never admit that.
"i have time to sit and relax in starbucks," he repeated, opening his laptop and turning it toward her, showing the band's site, "because i work while i sit and relax in starbucks." devlin chuckled, closing the laptop again and shrugging, "you know, it has its moments. but hey, it's better than working at a mcdonalds or somethin'. could you imagine this mug sayin' 'do you want fries with that'? no way," he smiled. "so you work with makeup," he started, leaning forward a little, "how much work do you think it'd take to make this look twenty again?" he rested his chin on his fist and looked at her from a few angles, smirking.

she looked at the laptop screen, and nodded. at this point he made it seem to easy, she then thought of other managers on tour and they seemed ready to rip their hair out every time some thing happened with the band. well, not really any of the bands. the only manager she'd ever seen stressed out all the time, well almost all of the time, was that solo artist jersey's manager yerxa. when he even said the word mcdonald's jenni couldn't help but laugh. "i've been there, done that, and i ain't ever going back." when she had first started her transition she worked at a mcdonald's back home, and she literally fucking hated it. everyone there knew her as james and it was just a huge fiasco. when he made the comment about his 'mug' jenni smirked and leaned back in her chair. "oh i could see that mug doing quite a few things." she bit her lip a little before taking another sip of her drink.
when he leaned forward, she couldn't help but laugh a little. she put her cup on the table and put her chin on her own fist, making it seem like she were really studying his face. she then shook her head and smiled. "you look fine, just the way your are." she shrugged then sighed a little. "and twenty? you don't look a day over eighteen." she teased and winked, sticking her tongue out at him a little.

devlin cringed and gave her a smile with sympathetic eyes, working at mcdonalds couldn't have been good; thus why he'd used it as a bad example. her comment about his 'mug' took him aback. he looked to his left and grinned, poking the inside of his cheek with his tongue, looking back to jenni. "can... you... really?" he said, spacing out his words. he smirked and kept a brow raised, this one was a fiesty one. he liked it. she wasn't shy and coy like other girls.
as she pretended to study his face he pulled some model-esque faces, and of course she fed his self esteem. when she remarked that he looked fine he waved a hand at her in an 'oh you' sort of fashion and scoffed. he sat back and looked at her a little surprised, "eighteen? christ almighty." he knew he looked good for thirty two but eighteen was a bit of a stretch in his books. "flattery will get you everywhere, my dear," he said with a nod, sipping his coffee. "so what were your plans for the day?" he only asked because he would like to know if he had a chance of spending some more time with this woman.

his reaction to her mug comment made her giggle, ending with a sigh. she ran the tip of her tongue across her top lip, circling down to her bottom lip. "well yeah-" she dragged out her yeah, putting on the fake cover-up. she had to have some sort of boundaries right? "like acting, modeling-" her poker face gave out and she laughed, ending it in a sigh. jenni loved how much he was making her laugh, that almost never happened when jenni met guys. they would try to make themselves seem more superior, or quite frankly just being douchebags. she felt her head get a little light, but she knew all about that. she was used to it, her hormones still gave her those sick days that she dreaded even after the few years she's been on them. she took another sip of her coffee, hoping maybe that would help.
she smirked at him as he waved his hand towards her. "you're a trip you know that?" jenni then thought about his last question, what did she have in store for today? well she wanted to go shopping, but that could wait. she didn't need to see any doctors for anything, and a new brighter smile rose on her face at the thought of a free day to spend with devlin. "getting coffee and meeting a hot guy were the only things i planned on doing today." she bit the top of her bottom lip, still smirking at the man. "so i guess i'm free." she angered herself when she flirt, it opened her up to easily. god forbid this guy found out about her secret and beat the shit out of her, these things haven't happened to jenni. but she's had trans friends who have had it done to them, and the thought scared the shit out of her.

acting? modelling? psh. like he was daft enough to believe that. "right, right," he said, chuckling and shaking his head, bringing his coffee to his lips and taking another sip. the way she started to smile at his question made him mirror her a smile a little, although he suppressed it into a smirk. "where is he? lucky son of a bitch," he said, chuckling a little. he bit his lip a bit, it wasn't very polite to openly swear in front of a pretty woman you'd just met in his opinion. but she seemed okay with it so he wasn't worried too much. when she said she was free he nodded thoughtfully. well that was a bonus.
"what a coincidence," devlin smiled, "well if you're free and i'm free, then i don't know, pshh..." the man trailed off, shrugging. now he was playing coy, and that was very unlike devlin. it was almost surprising, really. he was just throwing it out there. of course if she didn't want to he wouldn't push it, but if he could he wanted to spend more time with this woman. "perhaps the lady wants to go shopping or something?" he said, raising an eyebrow and smirking.

jenni studied devlin's smile, and it was an even bigger turn on. some thing with the mouth, jaw, and teeth was a big hit or miss with jenni, and his smile was just gorgeous. not to mention his sense of humor was awesome, nothing was more sexier than a guy who can tell and take a joke. when he threw on the shy guy, she looked down at the table with a smirk on her lips. mainly because he was trying to ask her if they could spend more time together, how cute right? then he said the one word that could get jenni out of any negative, depressing situation. shopping. "shopping? thank god. victoria's secret bra and panties are on sale today, because i was planning on heading up there some time soon. " she sighed, not knowing how this guy felt about discussing underwear freely but at this point it probably would just fly over hi head. i mean he took the mug comment well, so she should have been fine. "i mean if you wouldn't mind being the judge of a few hm?" she winked, letting out a soft chuckle. jenni took the last few sips of her frappucino, mad that it was empty already. that was the problem with starbuck's frozen drinks, they were gone so much quicker than their coffee. she sighed, pulling the whipped cream infested straw from the cup and licking the access cream off of the outside before getting up and throwing out the remains. when she walked back, jenni went in her purse and pulled out her lip gloss. she parted her lips, and slowly applied the gloss then rubbed her lips together. when she first started her transition, make up was the first thing she wanted to master. and she did, she can apply lip gloss; stick; mascara; skin make up; and eyeliner without a mirror. it was a hidden talent of hers. anyway, she screwed the cap back on; dropped it in her bag and looked at devlin. "shall we?" she smiled.

naturally being a woman, her eyes lit up at the word shopping in a flash and he smiled a little. he was doing an awful lot of smiling today, it was almost strange. he took a last sip of his coffee and chuckled at the victoria's secret comment, swallowing the drink. she continued with him judging the items in question and he shrugged, nodding at her. he went to say "psh" and "sure" at the same time and a strange "pshaw" noise came out instead but by the time she could have heard him she was up and throwing out her empty cup. lucky.
he got his laptop and slipped it into it's case, slinging the strap over his shoulder and getting up, running a hand through his hair, slicking the sides down and spiking the top in one motion, a habit of his. he walked up to her and got his phone out of his pocket, checking it quickly before looking up at her and smiling again. "let's go," he said, walking first and holding the door for her. he gave her a smirk and nodded at her, winking and gesturing, "milady." and they say chivalry is dead. not for devlin christof, atleast.
