Kenneth yawned, moving to sit beside him. He sat down carefully, considering it was beyond dark and the only light was coming through the window. He sat a bit away from Jordan, afraid he was going to screw up again. "Your pills aren't doing you any good if you just throw them all up, Jordan.."

Jordan scowled. "I didn't th-..throw them up.." He mumbled, tears pricking his eyes. He knew Kenneth had an idea since the other night. But he didn't know exactly how dependant he was getting. Just as Jordan didn't notice exactly how sick it was making him. "I need..more.." He shivered because of the fever, snuffed his cigarette out, eyes peered towards Kenneth in the very dim light of morning. It was still almost too dark to see. Tears fell down his cheeks. "I can't get up.." He couldn't stop shaking enough to do so.

"No, Jordan.. You're going to stop your heart if you take any more." He said, gently putting his hand on the boy's stomach so he would stay sitting. "I know you think you need them, but if you keep taking them like this, you're going to need an autopsy.." He didn't know what he'd do if the boy died, if anything happened to him. Even if Jordan may or may not be mad at him.

Jordan shuddered, but couldn't push him away. "No.." He moaned softly. "I-..." He gagged softly, resting his head on Kenneth's shoulder and closing his eyes as he shook.

Kenneth gently wrapped an arm around him, hugging him close. He kissed the top of his head, gently rubbing his side. "I don't want to see you get hurt or something, Jordan.. I couldn't live with myself if I knew you were going to be hurt like that.." He said quietly.

Jordan's jaw trembled, and he shivered again, curling up closer despite his burning up body. He didn't say anything, didn't want to hurt Kenneth. Even if it meant being sick today by not taking anything.

Kenneth looked over at him in the darkness before he pulled the boy up into his arms. He carried him downstairs, laying him down on the couch gently. He went and grabbed a bottle of water for him, walking back to hand it to him before he sat down in one of the chairs, pulling his knees up close.

Jordan took it, drinking thirstily. He could see the outline of Kenneth sitting, and drew his legs closer, patting the spot beside him. "I wont ta-..ake anything..." He shuddered. But he wasn't used to going without it anymore, either, couldn't sit still.

Kenneth shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "No.. I'm about to go see if we're flooded in. If not, I'm gonna head out to the storage shed and grab some more lamps. Cause it's anyone's guess when they're going to get the lights back on." He said quietly, messing with his fingers for a moment before he finally got up and walked blindly for the closet, fishing around for a pair of old tennis shoes and a jacket before he walked towards the front door. "I'll be back.."

Jordan watched him brokenly, knew he was messing everything up by using. He groaned, writhing in discomfort as she drew in a raspy breath and reached for the sweat dampened blanket, pulling it on and curling up. His body was trying to run normally like it hadn't in a long time. It felt miserable.

Kenneth came back a bit later with a couple more lamps in one hand and a tiny grey crying puppy in the other. It was wet and obviously scared. He handed the puppy to Jordan before he walked back to the window, discarding all his wet clothes by the back door. He worked on lighting the lamps, leaving one in the kitchen and bringing one to the table. He walked upstairs to change before he came back. "Is it okay?"

Jordan squirmed faintly as he trembled again, looking up in surprise as the sopping pup was set down. He pulled it close to his burnin up chest to try and warm it, squinting at it in the dark and using the blanket to start scrubbing it dry. "Yeah h-..he's fine..." He huffed, clearing his throat.

Kenneth looked over at the pup, and sighed. "It's just going to die.. But I couldn't leave it there crying." He sat down at Jordan's feet, reaching over to pat it's head. "I've never seen a dog so small. Even puppies." He pulled his legs up into the sofa, pulling the other end of the blanket over himself.

Jordan studied it quietly in the light of the lamp, frowning. He kept it pressed to his burning chest, glanced at Kenneth as he pulled the blanket up. "It's kinda damp.." He mumbled guiltily, then glanced at the puppy, occasional tremors still passing his own body. He ran his finger over the puppies lips, squinting at his tiny teeth. They didn't have any formula, though.

Kenneth walked to the kitchen, grabbing a dish towel for him to help dry it off with. "It's too wet to make a fire outside. But we can always take the covers off the lamps." He said quietly. "I don't see why we can't just.. give it milk. I don't wanna see it starve.."
