Kat giggled gently when he wrinkled his nose at the nickname. She knew that he wasn't really one to have pet names and she couldn't do anything but respect that about him. He knew what he liked and that was pretty much it. Take it or leave it. Going through her purse, she pulled out her sunglasses and slid them over her eyes. Sure, the sun was going down and it was about to be dark soon, but it was all about the appearances. Plus, they were in a convertible! Might as well pretend to live like a famous person. She watched as he maneuvered the car easily, shifting gears as if it were his own car that he was driving. Small things like driving a manual car were always impressive to her. The fact that she had even passed her drivers test was a miracle for her given that being in control of such a large machine scared her half out of her mind. She preferred her good 'ol two feet or her tour bus. At least those modes of transportation she knew would get her from point A to point B without her endangering the lives of other people or small animals. When her dad was teaching her to drive, she killed a few cats and a raccoon in her neighborhood.
As Nix changed the music Kat wiggled in her seat excitedly, raising one of her hands to the wind. The music was good, the weather was good, life was good. Turning her gaze to the road, she pointed in the general direction they were driving. "None on the horizon yet, but we shall find them come hell or highwater!" She attempted her best pirate voice, suppressing the giggles that threatened to erupt from her chest. Finally some fun. It was nice that it was Nix that she got to hang out with because he knew how silly she was, and even when he gave her the strange looks to what she was talking about he knew that she meant no harm and she really wasn't THAT mentally unstable.
